Plaid

The other morning my Grandson Bowie got himself dressed and his outfit consisted of plaid shorts and a stripped top. I liked the look. I unfortunately didn't get a picture at the time and a few days later when I asked him if he would put the plaid shorts on again he refused. Three year olds! I have two rolls of plaid linen that I have had for a couple of years. I bought them without a plan in mind, I just like them. With the inspiration from Bowie I now have a plan. I will be mixing the plaid fabrics with some coloured solids and screen printing over both. I have screens which will print florals, polka-dots both big and small, hand drawn stripes and town names. The garment will be a tunic to start with perhaps a bag to go with it.
